Question:

" Would day cleaning (during normal business hours) of office space be considered standard practice for Class A office space? "

Steve’s Answer:

Specific to your question “would day cleaning (during normal business hours) of office space be considered standard practice for Class A office space” the answer at this time has to be NO.

Day Cleaning in many respects has been practiced for years in buildings that operate 24/7 (in many respects, Day Cleaning is simply a cleaning strategy that is used when the building is occupied as compare to cleaning when the building is basically unoccupied / after hours). Although it is important to point out that many cleaning operations under Day Cleaning are still performed at night or other times when the building is otherwise unoccupied (i.e. weekends, early in the morning or immediately after occupants leave for the day). And while I personally like the concept of Day Cleaning, it is a complicated change.

And while there are many potential benefits such as reduced energy consumption due to turning lights off at nights when the building would otherwise be unoccupied and occupant satisfaction may increase because they like seeing the cleaning people in the building which gives them confidence that cleaning is really taking place, but today I do NOT believe it can be considered “standard practice”.
