Question of the Month - October 2007

Question:  "I am looking for information to be more knowledgable of Green. Specifically, I am seeking to know Steve's favorite and most relevant books on Green or other educating materials on the topic. I would also like to get his book Green for Dummies. Which bookstores sell it? "

Steve’s Answer:   Glad to hear from you and I appreciate how excited you are about Green Cleaning.

The first book I would encourage you to read is Green Cleaning for Dummies as it is the most relevant to our industry. You can buy it off of my web site (www.AshkinGroup.com).

As to other books to read --- currently I am reading two books. One is "Green to Gold" by Daniel Este and Andrew Winston. I am reading this one because Andrew Winston is speaking at the ISSA Convention in a few weeks and I am curious what he has to say.

The other book I am reading is "Blessed Unrest" by Paul Hawken. Hawken is one of the most respected environmentalists in the US. Actually his book "The Ecology of Commerce" which came out in the early 1990's was one of the books that really inspired me early in my career.

You can get both books through www.Amazon.com and I recommend that you buy them used.

Hope this helps,

Steve
