Green Group of the Month: 2007 Campus Sustainability Leadership Award Winners

For the month of September, we would like to salute the 2007 Campus Sustainability Leadership Award recipients from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

Yes, we are selecting all four as our "Green Group of the Month" as we feel they all demonstrate the ingenuity and drive we seek to spotlight.

Michigan State University (East Lansing, MI), four-year schools with 7,500+ students; Middlebury College (Middlebury, VT), four-year schools between 1,000 and 7,500 students; Green Mountain College (Poultney, VT), four-year schools with less than 1,000 students; and Chandler-Gilbert Community College (Chandler, AZ), community colleges and other two-year schools; were chosen in recognition of "schools that have made substantial commitments to sustainability in governance and administration, operations, curriculum and research, campus culture and community outreach" by the AASHS.

We felt this would be appropriate as nominations for the Green Cleaning Award for Schools & Universities has come to a close, and we await the announcement of the winners in November. Congratulations to these four institutions who are helping shape tomorrow's leaders in the Green Movement.
