Staying in & leaving the hotel:
• Make sure that the water isn’t dripping in the bathrooms before leaving. And if there is a plumbing problem, inform the front desk and ask them to get it fixed while you’re out of the room.
• Reuse towels and have the hotel reuse bed linens for at least a couple of nights.
• Turn the air condition “off” (warm weather) or at least turn up the thermostat a few degrees.
• Turn the heater “off” (cold weather) or at least turn the thermostat down a few degrees.
• Remember to close all drapes as you turn off TV and all lights.
• Take a refillable water bottle with you to the exhibit hall. Not only does this reduce environmental impacts associated with the packaging and filling of bottled water, it will save you a lot of money considering how expensive drinks are at most conferences.

In route & at the conference:
• Take mass transportation (i.e. conference shuttle) to and from the hotel and conference center as opposed to driving one’s own vehicle or taking a cab. Better yet, consider walking.
• Don’t take literature from exhibitors that you won’t use.
• Have exhibitors email information with PDF files of literature, rather than having them mail it to you.
• Recycle whenever possible.
• Don’t waste food and use washable rather than disposable chinaware.
